Because of the beneficial role played by teachers in the formative years of Michael Jordan, he established Wings, a scholarship fund devoted to providing equal access to quality education for young adults. The Air Jordan 5 ‘Wings’ edition honors this mission by covering the upper leather with doodles and sketches by Little Black Pearl learners, a non-profit art and design center that serves the South Side youth of Chicago. On the bottom of the tongue, next to the declaration ‘Everyone Can Fly’ appears the Jordan ‘Wings’ logo.
